Amrish Puri: Whenever we talk about the best and most dreaded villains of Hindi cinema, the first name that comes to mind is that of the legendary and late actor Amrish Puri. There has been no other villain like Amrish Puri sahab in the history of Bollywood.
Amrish Puri used to blow the senses of even the heroes with his presence. Amrish Puri sahab used to win everyone’s heart with his tall stature, strong voice and amazing acting. However, Amrish Puri had already realized his death. His son Rajiv Puri had narrated the story of his father’s last days during an interview.
Amrish Puri had a blood disease
Rajiv Puri had said about his father Amrish Puri in an interview given to Filmfare that, ‘In 2003, Guddu Dhanoa’s film ‘Jaal: The Trap’ was being shot in Himachal Pradesh. Papa Amrish Puri had an accident there. He had suffered serious injuries. He had severe injuries on his face and eyes and a lot of blood had been lost. Papa was immediately taken to the hospital. The doctors told him that he needed blood. Blood was transfused, but during that time something went wrong because after this Papa developed a blood-related disease called myelodysplastic syndrome.’
Amrish Puri had a feeling of death
Amrish Puri had a feeling of death after this incident. According to Rajiv, his father was gradually suffering from blood loss. Rajiv said, ‘Papa was very scared. But he had a strong will. He wanted to show the world how strong he was. Papa knew very well that at the age of 72, everything in his body could not be fine. Papa used to say that whatever has to happen will happen.’
Amrish Puri had shot many films even when he was sick
Amrish had films like ‘Kacchi Sadak’, ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’, ‘Halchal’ and ‘Aitraaz’ till his last days. According to Rajiv, even during his illness, his father had completed the shooting of these films by the year 2004. Later, Amrish Puri sahab had a brain hemorrhage. After this, he died in the year 2005.
